Dr. Sandhya Kiran emphasized the importance of taking every pregnant woman to Primary Health Centers (PHCs) or the District Hospital for safe deliveries. She instructed health workers to regularly check and maintain pregnant women’s hemoglobin levels between 10 and 12 grams, supporting them with nutritional guidance.
She also focused on raising awareness and implementing health programs at the local level. Programs like mental health, elderly care, NCD follow-ups, and cancer screenings were highlighted. She directed health staff to perform cervical and breast cancer screenings effectively at the district hospital as part of routine services.
A new initiative for NCD screening was announced, targeting those aged 30 and above. Dr. Sandhya Kiran asked the staff to use the Village Health Register (VHR) to identify eligible individuals for screenings as preventive healthcare.
The event included participants like District NCD Program Coordinator Mr. Shyam Sundar, MLHP Premalatha, ANM Shobharani, and several ASHA workers. They engaged in discussions and committed to following the given instructions.
