Hyderabad: The search for three people swept away in open drains continues in the city. HYDRAA teams are using drones to survey the Musi River and nearby areas.

Heavy rain on Sunday led to the disappearance of Arjun (26) and Ramu (25) in the Afzal Sagar area of Asif Nagar, and Dinesh Sunny (26) in Vinobha Nagar, Musheerabad. After three days, officials have stepped up their efforts to find the missing individuals.

Dinesh Sunny’s motorcycle was found about 150 meters from where he disappeared. HYDRAA staff checked each catch pit between the accident spot and where the bike was found, but no signs of Dinesh. The same goes for Arjun and Ramu. Additional Director Varla Papayya stated that despite extensive searches in the drains and using drones in the river, the men have not been located.

Tensions rose in Parsigutta when Dinesh Sunny’s family and relatives protested, demanding his whereabouts be found. They blocked the road near the incident site, criticizing civic authorities for neglecting safety measures around the open drains. Protesters pointed out that despite retrieving Dinesh’s scooter from a manhole, efforts to find him have not succeeded.
