Hyderabad: Eatala Rajender, Member of Parliament from Malkajgiri, strongly criticized the current Congress-led government in Telangana, calling it disorganized and short-lived.

While speaking to residents at Pujitha Enclave in Bachupalli on Saturday, Rajender compared the state’s governance to the chaotic rule of Muhammad bin Tughlaq, a historical figure known for his erratic decisions. He accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of ignoring citizens’ problems and failing to lead with direction or compassion.

Rajender addressed growing concerns among local residents after they received sudden notices from HYDRA, an agency involved in land and water management. These notices claimed that the land on which their homes were built was actually classified as pond land.

He said, “The Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) sent out these notices. But when I contacted the District Collector, he said he didn’t know anything. How is that possible? How can an MRO act without the Collector’s knowledge?”

The MP emphasized that the homes in question were built legally, with full permissions from local authorities. “The land was legally sold. The Municipal Commissioner approved the construction plans. Now, years later, another MRO shows up and calls it pond land? This is nothing but harassment,” he said.

Rajender made it clear that he does not oppose HYDRA’s work to restore water bodies or improve drainage systems. However, he strongly objected to the idea of demolishing homes that were lawfully built. “People invested their life savings. Who gave you the right to destroy their hard work?” he asked.

He also criticized the timing of the notices. “These homes were built over a decade ago. Why are demolition threats being made now?” he questioned. He added that residents are under severe stress, with many suffering from high blood pressure and sleepless nights due to the fear of losing their homes.

According to Rajender, the affected homeowners have been paying property taxes for the last five years. Most of them are government employees or pensioners. He acknowledged that there may be discrepancies in land records but argued that this does not justify the harassment.

“The government must stop threatening honest citizens. If this continues, people will lose trust. This administration is failing to protect its own people,” he concluded.
