The Bahujan Samaj Party criticized the Modi government for illegally arresting BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha by obstructing the ED. The party condemned this decision and accused Modi of resorting to blackmail politics after KCR refused to form an electoral alliance with the BJP in Telangana and joined hands with BSP instead.

The BSP claimed that the illegal arrest was a result of a corrupt pact between the BJP and Congress, who are in power at the Central and State levels. They viewed this arrest as an attack on the self-esteem of the people of Telangana and vowed to fight back in the upcoming Indian Parliament elections.
