A first-year engineering student from GITAM University Hyderabad died by suicide on Friday. The student, identified as Renu Sri, jumped from the fifth floor of the university building in Rudraram. Renu Sri was 18 years old and hailed from Madhapur, Hyderabad. She had recently joined the university’s Computer Science Engineering branch.
The incident resulted in Renu Sri’s immediate death due to multiple injuries. Her body has been taken to the Area Hospital in Patancheru for a postmortem examination. The authorities have registered a case and are currently conducting an investigation.
