A task force team from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and GHMC food safety officers inspected oil repacking units in Katedan after checking hotels and eateries in Telangana. Three units—Bhagyanagar Oil Refineries, Kedia Agro, and Ambica Oil Industries—were inspected. Violations were found, such as open windows without insect-proof screens, lack of FSSAI license for vehicles, and missing documents like pest control records and cleaning schedules.

The team then visited eateries in the Charminar area, including popular places like Shadab, Nimrah Café, and Arabiana Restaurant. At Hotel Shadab, improper labels were found on products like packed coconuts and dried rose petals. Semi-prepared food was stored incorrectly, and essential documents like FSSAI licenses were not displayed prominently.

At Arabiana Restaurant, food handlers were not wearing proper gear, and the kitchen had hygiene issues like untidy exhaust fans and flaking plaster. Nimrah Café also had problems with untidy baking equipment and lack of proper storage labeling. Documents like medical fitness certificates and pest control records were missing at these establishments.
