The Cyberabad Traffic Police has announced a major 90-day road closure at IIIT Junction starting from July 1, 2026. The stretch from DLF Gate No.1 to Gachibowli Traffic Police Station will remain closed to facilitate the ongoing construction of a multi-level flyover and underpass. The closure is expected to significantly impact daily commuters, particularly IT employees working in the Gachibowli area, one of Hyderabad’s busiest technology corridors.
Traffic coming from Radisson Hotel towards IIIT Junction will only be permitted up to DLF Gate No.1. Vehicles will need to take an alternate route via Gachibowli Junction, then proceed through Indiranagar to reach IIIT Junction. Meanwhile, traffic from Lingampally heading towards DLF will be diverted through Gachibowli Traffic Police Station, IIIT Junction, Gachibowli Junction, and Radisson Junction before reaching DLF.
TCS employees using the Non-SEZ (CMC) Gate have been informed that they can continue to use their regular entry and exit points without disruption. However, the traffic authorities have advised all commuters to plan their journeys accordingly and allow extra travel time during this period. The flyover construction project is expected to continue for approximately one year, which means the area will experience prolonged disruption.
The Cyberabad Traffic Police has urged commuters to use alternate routes wherever possible to avoid congestion around IIIT Junction. The multi-level flyover and underpass project aims to ease traffic congestion in the long term at one of Hyderabad’s busiest junctions. Authorities have emphasized the need for public cooperation during the construction phase to ensure minimal inconvenience and smooth traffic flow in the surrounding areas.
