In preparation for the upcoming Ganesh Visarjan, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner, Amrapali, announced on Monday that all necessary arrangements have been completed to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience for devotees.
Commissioner Amrapali highlighted the importance of public cooperation during the event. She urged citizens not to litter the roads during the celebrations. A large workforce of 15,000 GHMC staff members will be actively involved in the immersion process, which is expected to see significant participation from the community.
To help with the immersion, 465 cranes have been set up across the city, with an additional 38 cranes specifically placed around Hussain Sagar. The GHMC has worked closely with other departments to organize the programs effectively and ensure everything runs smoothly.
“For the next three days starting tomorrow, our staff will be fully engaged in managing the immersion activities,” said Amrapali during a media briefing. “We’ve completed all preparations to make sure the event goes ahead without any difficulties for the devotees.”
Additionally, 160 special Ganesh teams will be working under the supervision of the GHMC. The GHMC has also established 10 control rooms across Greater Hyderabad to manage the event, with a central command room set up at the GHMC headquarters to monitor operations. Another 500 personnel will be deployed after the immersion to assist in cleanup and related tasks.
For the immersion, 73 Vinayaka ponds and larger water bodies have been designated throughout Greater Hyderabad. This provides ample options for devotees to perform the immersion rituals. To ensure everything runs efficiently, all GHMC staff have had their leave canceled for the next three days, ensuring full manpower is available.
As the city prepares for this grand event, the GHMC remains committed to keeping the city clean and organized, making it a memorable occasion for all who participate.
