In the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case, Erra Gangi Reddy’s bail was revoked by the Telangana High Court. He was directed to surrender before the CBI Court by May 5 or face arrest. The CBI argued that Reddy played a key role in hatching the conspiracy to kill Viveka and tampering with evidence at the crime scene. The court agreed and cancelled his bail. The CBI investigation should be completed within two months, and Reddy’s bail stands cancelled only till June 30.

The Telangana High Court also took up a suo motu case on the lock-up death of Chiranjivi, an auto driver, in the Tukaramgate police station. Chiranjivi was picked up for questioning and died in the hospital while undergoing treatment for severe fits. His family members alleged that he died due to police torture. The petition will come up for hearing before the Chief Justice bench on Friday.
