A meeting took place at the BJP Telangana City Office to plan the Telangana Liberation Day 2025 events. N Ramchandra Rao, the BJP Telangana State President, led the meeting, with Union Minister G Kishan Reddy attending as the main guest. Other senior party leaders also participated.

The focus was on organizing the celebrations smoothly. Discussions covered security, event logistics, and key highlights. A major event will be unveiling a statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Cantonment Park near Parade Grounds in Secunderabad.

September 17 marks the day Telangana was freed from Nizam rule and Razakar militias. However, past state governments, including those of joint Andhra Pradesh, BRS, and Congress, have not officially celebrated it. The BJP wants the day officially recognized, reflecting public sentiment and history.

Since 2022, the Central Government has led official Telangana Liberation Day events. Amit Shah managed the 2022 and 2023 celebrations, while G. Kishan Reddy led in 2024. This year, the Union Ministry of Culture will host the event at Secunderabad Parade Grounds. Rajnath Singh, the Union Defense Minister, will raise the national flag and speak to the crowd.

A photo exhibition will display stories and sacrifices from the Telangana liberation movement, offering insights into the region’s struggle. The unveiling of Vajpayee’s statue honors his vision for inclusive governance.

The BJP Telangana unit promises full support for the Central Government’s efforts and is mobilizing members for broad participation. State leaders are encouraging party workers to contribute actively, showing commitment to preserving Telangana’s historical heritage.
