Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is stepping up efforts to address public complaints through its weekly Prajavani program. Deputy Mayor Srilatha Shobhan Reddy has instructed officials to give top priority to the issues raised by citizens.
She asked GHMC staff to be present at the Head Office every Monday for the Prajavani sessions. During these sessions, officials are expected to carefully review each complaint and take quick, effective action.
Additional Commissioner Anurag Jayanthi, along with officials Raghu Prasad, Venugopal Chandrakantha Reddy, Pankaja Geetha Radhika, and Town Planning Additional CCP Veeranna Pradeep, received the complaints personally.
Jayanthi stressed the need for speedy responses. He urged all departments to focus on resolving the problems affecting Hyderabad residents.
At the latest Prajavani hearing, GHMC received a total of 171 complaints from residents. These included problems related to town planning, street lighting, and various other civic issues.
Out of the total, 75 complaints came directly to the GHMC Head Office, with 5 submitted via phone. Another 96 complaints were filed across the six GHMC zones.

– Secunderabad Zone: 30
– Serilingampally: 18
– LB Nagar: 11
– Kukatpally: 11
– Charminar: 2
– Khairtabad Zone: 3
Several senior officials, including Chief Medical Officer Dr. Padmaja, Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Abdul Vakeel, UBD Director Venkateswar, Water Works DGM Sai Ramana, and Electricity SE Mamatha, were present to address the concerns.
The GHMC aims to use the Prajavani platform to directly connect with citizens and resolve their civic issues quickly and efficiently.
