Hyderabad: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially approved DNB postgraduate medical courses at the TGSRTC Hospital located in Tarnaka. This move marks a significant step forward in improving healthcare for RTC employees.
The approval includes a total of seven seats across three key specialties: General Medicine (3 seats), General Surgery (2 seats), and Orthopedic Surgery (2 seats).
The TSRTC had submitted a proposal to start these courses to raise the standard of medical care at their hospital. After a detailed evaluation, NBEMS gave the green light. Admissions to the three-year DNB PG courses will be based on NEET scores, while the two-year diploma programs will use DNB-PDCET scores. These courses will begin from the next academic year.
TSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar expressed his enthusiasm over this development. He believes that offering these programs will help attract skilled doctors to the hospital, directly improving the quality of services for RTC staff.
According to Sajjanar, the Tarnaka Hospital is being upgraded into a super specialty center. The goal is to provide world-class treatment and ensure better health outcomes for RTC employees. He reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to making the hospital a model of comprehensive healthcare.
TSRTC also recognized key individuals who played a major role in achieving this milestone. Dr. Srinivas, former OSD Dr. Saidi Reddy, and doctors Sushmita, Pramod Kumar, Pradeep Kumar, and Raj Kumar received special appreciation. They were honored on Monday at the Hyderabad Bus Bhavan by MD VC Sajjanar and other senior RTC officials.
The event was attended by Executive Director Munishekhar, Chief Personnel Manager Usha Devi, Hospital Superintendent Dr. Shailajamurthy, and other dignitaries.
