Hyderabad faced heavy rain on Monday night, causing water to collect in many areas across the city. In response, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) quickly stepped in to ease the situation for residents.
The city had 141 locations where rainwater got stuck. GHMC’s Monsoon Emergency Teams were sent out immediately to clear these spots. Their quick work helped reduce waterlogging and kept roads safer for drivers.
GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan confirmed that the situation is now stable. He said teams also removed fallen trees and fixed other problems caused by the rain. The goal was to restore normal life as fast as possible.
To better monitor weather changes, 155 automatic weather stations have been installed throughout GHMC limits. These stations, set up with help from the Telangana Development Planning Society, recorded an average of 2.3 mm of rainfall during Monday’s showers.
Officials say they remain alert and ready to respond quickly to any more rain-related issues in the coming days.
