Ranga Reddy district officials recently visited Lashkarguda village to check on issues faced by toddy-tappers. The Deputy Commissioner, Excise Commissioner, and RDO also joined the visit. They noticed that toddy-tappers often face accidents while working, which can be fatal or cause disabilities. To help prevent these incidents, the government has decided to provide a ‘Geetha Karmaka Life Saving Kit’ to toddy-tappers across the State.

The kit aims to protect tappers from accidents while collecting toddy. During the visit, a toddy worker tried out the kit in a trial run under supervision. The collector asked for feedback on the kit’s durability from the tappers after the trial. District Prohibition and Excise Officer, trainer Shekar Babu, and local leaders were also present during the demonstration.
