Hyderabad: The state government is taking action to address the issues in the Telugu film industry. Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy announced the formation of a committee to hold discussions with key industry players and find a peaceful resolution.
On Monday, during a meeting at the Secretariat with producers and film association representatives, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy emphasized the importance of balancing the needs of workers and small producers. He stated, “The government supports workers, but small producers’ concerns should also be addressed. Only through talks can we find a solution.” The minister encouraged both producers and film workers to be flexible and end the ongoing strike.
Komatireddy expressed optimism that film production could resume by Wednesday. The government aims to make Hyderabad a global film center while maintaining the city’s strong reputation in cinema and entertainment.
He highlighted that Telangana’s beautiful locations could attract more film projects, boosting tourism, creating jobs, and increasing revenue for local communities.
The Minister also mentioned that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is dedicated to providing housing for cine workers with lower incomes and improving their living conditions. However, he warned that strikes are not the right solution.
Telangana State Film Development Corporation chairman Dil Raju spoke at the meeting, emphasizing the importance of industry unity and supporting the government’s vision. Special Chief Secretary Ravi Gupta and various film association representatives also participated in the discussion.
