The Telangana government has launched a major project to address encroachments along the Musi River. Dana Kishore, the Managing Director of Musi Riverfront Development Corporation, announced that a special operation is now underway to remove illegal structures and relocate affected families to new homes.

During a media briefing, Kishore shared that about 1,600 private buildings were identified for removal as part of the Musi beautification project. He explained that an action plan has been put in place to handle the situation. Following instructions from Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, the government will ensure that each affected family is given a double-bedroom house for relocation.

The state government has allocated 15,000 double-bedroom homes to resettle families currently living in the Musi riverbed and buffer zone. Kishore has asked District Collectors to create proper guidelines for the rehabilitation of these families. He stressed that demolitions will only begin after the new homes have been provided.

Additionally, Kishore mentioned that proposals under the Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation Act have been submitted to the government for approval. Once the government approves, compensation will be given as per legal guidelines. He urged residents not to worry, assuring them that all eligible families will be properly resettled.
