Hyderabad: A foundation for ‘Young India Integrated Residential Schools’ will be laid in at least 18 constituencies before the upcoming Dasara festival. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced this pilot project and said that these schools would promote the idea that all humans are equal, regardless of caste or religion.
The total budget for this project is Rs 5,000 crore. Each school will be built with modern facilities, costing around Rs 25 crore each, and will be spread across 20 acres of land. The government has already approved the construction of schools in several areas, including Kondangal, Husnabad, Nalgonda, Huzurnagar, and Warangal. A committee led by State Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari is overseeing the process for the rest of the constituencies.
During a special event held at the Secretariat, Deputy CM Bhatti, along with Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, explained more about the schools. These schools, with English as one of the mediums of instruction, will offer education up to the 12th standard. Bhatti called this a historic decision and expressed his hope that all land acquisition processes would be completed this year. He mentioned that the schools would be ready by next Dasara, and applications would be open to everyone.
He also highlighted that the government has allocated Rs 5,000 crore for this project, a significant increase from the previous government’s budget of only Rs 72 crore. Bhatti emphasized that this initiative aims to modernize government and Gurukul schools, breaking down barriers related to caste, class, and religion.
Each campus will combine students from SC, ST, BC, and minority communities, offering a unified educational environment. The schools will have the capacity to serve 2,560 students each and will employ 120 teaching staff. The goal is to improve public education in Telangana.
The schools will feature digital smart boards, computer centers, well-stocked libraries with over 5,000 books, and modern laboratories to ensure students receive the best possible education. Additionally, the campuses will include sports complexes with facilities for cricket, football, basketball, tennis, and even outdoor gyms.
Deputy CM Bhatti concluded by saying that this all-inclusive approach to education will help students excel both academically and personally, ensuring they grow into well-rounded individuals.
