Hyderabad: N Ramchander Rao, President of the Telangana BJP, has called on the Congress government to support cable operators by providing alternative services such as optical fiber connections. This request follows recent challenges faced by operators due to government actions.
On Friday, Rao highlighted that the Karnataka government offers optical fiber connections to cable operators, charging them rent and enabling better service to customers. He suggested that a similar approach could benefit operators in Telangana.
A recent incident during Sri Krishna Janmashtami in Ramanthapur led to the state government cutting cable wires across various city areas. This decision has left many operators struggling to maintain their services and livelihoods.
There are about 1,50,000 cable operators and staff in Telangana, impacting thousands of families. Rao promised to address the issues faced by the Internet Service Providers Association and small-scale cable operators.
The BJP has expressed its backing for a protest organized by the Telangana Internet Service Providers Association and small-scale operators at Indira Park. Representatives from the association previously met with Rao at his Tarnaka residence to discuss their significant challenges.
