Hyderabad: Governor Jishnu Dev Verma emphasized the importance of diversity, saying it is the essence of creation. He stated that while uniformity is not desirable in any aspect, unity is essential to achieve the Indian ideal of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam—the idea that the world is one family. The Governor was speaking at the inauguration of an art exhibition at the Salar Jung Museum on Saturday.
The Governor was deeply impressed by the artworks created by neurodiverse (intellectually challenged) artists. He expressed that he was moved by their efforts, adding that art is something to be felt and experienced, rather than explained. He also mentioned that the artworks on display reflect the divine spark within these special artists.
Salar Jung Museum director, Ashish Goyal, shared that the museum follows the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusivity. He explained that the exhibition provides an important platform for neurodiverse artists to showcase their unique perspectives to the public. Goyal also highlighted how art can inspire positive changes in society.
The exhibition, titled “Diverse Voices: Art Beyond Boundaries”, is supported by the Salar Jung Museum under the Ministry of Culture. It features around 100 artworks by neurodiverse artists from different parts of the country.
