The Chief Minister of Telangana, K Chandrashekar Rao, has promised to develop a metro rail network between Patancheru and Hayatnagar if he wins the 2023 elections. This will be the first decision made in the first cabinet meeting of the next government. KCR laid the foundation stone for a super specialty hospital at Patancheru and announced that the Hyderabad Metro Rail would be extended to Patancheru to help with increasing traffic in the area. He also promised to provide grants for the development of infrastructure facilities in the city suburbs.

KCR mentioned that he had previously promised to extend the Metro Rail to Maheshwaram by extending the project beyond LB Nagar, and said that he would clear the expansion project in the first Cabinet meeting after getting reelected for the third consecutive term. He also criticized former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for not supporting Telangana in the past.
