Harish Rao, a senior BRS leader, accused the Congress party of deceiving farmers by promising a bonus and then changing the terms. He stated that the Congress had initially promised a bonus of Rs 500 for all types of paddy in their election manifesto but later specified that it would only be for fine rice. Rao pointed out that most paddy grown in Telangana during the Rabi season is non-fine, questioning the fairness of the new condition.

Rao also criticized Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for not fulfilling promises made during elections, such as providing Rs 4,000 as unemployed dole. He emphasized the importance of supporting farmers who work hard to produce the rice that people consume. Rao mentioned that CM Revanth Reddy, Dy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi had all mentioned a bonus for paddy without specifying fine or non-fine rice.

The BRS leader demanded that the Congress government fulfill its promise of providing Rs 15,000 under Rythu Bharosa to farmers. He urged for the immediate payment of Rs 2,500 in dues and Rs 7,500 for Kharif crops by June to total the promised amount. Rao warned of organizing a large protest with farmers if these demands were not met.
