    Heavy Rain Likely in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Due to Bay of Bengal Storm

    Hyderabad, May 21, 2025 — The weather in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is turning unpredictable. Even with the intense summer heat, sudden rain showers continue to surprise residents. Now, a new weather system is forming, bringing more rain in the coming days.

    The Hyderabad Meteorological Department reports that a low-pressure area is expected to form by midnight on May 21. Within the next 36 hours, this could strengthen into a depression by midnight on May 22.

    Due to this system, Andhra Pradesh may see heavy rain over the next five days. Telangana is also likely to experience moderate to heavy rainfall, along with gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 km/h, through May 26.

    Some areas, including Kodad, Suryapet, and Huzurnagar, have already received rainfall. The weather department predicts widespread showers across both western and eastern districts of Telangana.

    At least 15 districts are expected to be affected by heavy rain. These include:

    Nizamabad
    Kamareddy
    Medak
    Sangareddy
    Vikarabad
    Mahabubnagar
    Narayanpet
    Wanaparthy
    Jogulamba Gadwal
    Nagarkurnool
    Nalgonda
    Suryapet
    Mahabubabad
    Khammam
    Bhadradri Kothagudem
    Hyderabad

    Residents in these regions should stay alert and follow local weather updates. Authorities are urging people to take precautions, especially in low-lying areas prone to flooding.
