    Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms Expected in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana: IMD Warns

    The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a strong weather warning for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Over the next two days, both states are likely to face heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds.

    In Andhra Pradesh, several districts will see light to moderate rain, along with thunder and lightning. These districts include Anakapalle, Annamayya, Srikakulam, Kakinada, Konaseema, Sri Sathyasai, Eluru, East Godavari, and YSR Kadapa.

    The Rayalaseema region, especially Chittoor, Anantapur, and Sri Sathyasai, could receive heavy downpours. The IMD has urged farmers in these areas to take steps to protect their crops from potential damage.

    In Telangana, several districts are also on alert. The IMD predicts heavy rain and gusty winds ranging between 30–50 km/h. Affected districts include Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal, Vikarabad, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Adilabad, Nirmal, Komuram Bheem, Warangal, Hanmakonda, Khammam, and Mahabubabad.

    Hyderabad is expected to receive light to moderate rain starting later today. Some city areas such as Malkajgiri, Tarnaka, Uppal, and Dilsukhnagar may see intense thunderstorms.

    Officials have asked people in both states to stay alert. Residents should take safety measures and avoid travel during severe weather if possible.

    The IMD continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates as needed.
