Hyderabad: As drivers across India plan a strike on February 7, the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has shared travel advice.
On this day, services like app-based cabs, autos, and bike taxis may not operate. However, RGIA will function as usual, according to an issued statement.
Travelers are urged to plan their journey ahead and consider extra travel time. Alternative transport options include prepaid taxis, car rentals, and the Pushpak Airport Bus.
For any help, passengers can reach out to the transport help desk near Aeroplaza.
App-Based Drivers Strike
Drivers from platforms like Uber, Rapido, and Ola are organizing a strike, called the “All-India Breakdown,” on February 7. They protest against low fares and lack of government action.
The Telangana App-Based Drivers Forum (TADF) claims that despite the introduction of the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines, 2025, companies still set fares unfairly. This leads to financial struggles for drivers and poor working conditions.
Commuters face issues like surge pricing and insufficient regulation, the forum noted.
The union also criticized the government for not setting minimum base fares, allowing companies to reduce driver pay while raising their own commissions.
