The Hyderabad Marathon 2023 will take place on Sunday from 4.30 AM to 10.00 AM. The event will happen on different roads in the city and will include a Full Marathon and Half Marathon, both starting from People’s Plaza Necklace Road up to Gachibowli Stadium for a distance of 42KM. The 10KM run will start from Hitex NAC main gate, Madhapur.
In addition, the 5K Curtain Raiser for the 12th Edition of NMDC Hyderabad Marathon was held at Hitex on Saturday morning. The event was jointly flagged off by Vikas Raj, Chief Electoral Officer; Amitava Mukherjee, Chairman-Cum-Managing Director of NMDC Ltd; Amit Sinha, Country Head of Branch Banking at IDFC FIRST Bank; and Prashant Morparia, Race Director of NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2023.
The Chief Electoral Officer addressed the participants, emphasizing the upcoming elections and the importance of voting. Amitava Mukherjee highlighted NMDC’s support for a healthy lifestyle and its association with events like this. People of all ages and backgrounds participated in the run, making it an inclusive event.
The run also saw participation from various organizations and individuals, including students from Lekhadeep and representatives from the Fernandez Child Development Centre. Other participants included runners supporting causes like Isha Vidhya and those against single-use plastics. The Hyderabad Runners Society organized the 5K Run with the aim of promoting an active lifestyle and making running a popular fitness activity.
