The Hyderabad Marathon 2023 will take place on Sunday from 4.30 AM to 10.00 AM. The event includes both Full Marathon and Half Marathon, starting from People’s Plaza Necklace Road up to Gachibowli Stadium for a distance of 42KM. The 10KM run starts from Hitex NAC main gate, Madhapur.
On Saturday morning, the 5K Curtain Raiser of the 12th Edition of NMDC Hyderabad Marathon was held at Hitex. It was flagged off by Vikas Raj, Chief Electoral Officer; Amitava Mukherjee, Chairman-Cum-Managing Director of NMDC Ltd; Amit Sinha, Country Head of Branch Banking at IDFC FIRST Bank; and Prashant Morparia, Race Director NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2023.
Chief Electoral Officer spoke to the participants and highlighted the importance of voting, stating that elections are coming up. Amitava Mukherjee emphasized the significance of a healthy lifestyle and wished all the runners fun, fitness, and health.
The run had participants from various backgrounds and age groups, including students from Lekhadeep and representatives from the Fernandez Child Development Centre. There were also runners supporting different causes such as Isha Vidhya and the fight against single-use plastics.
The Hyderabad Runners Society organized the 5K Run with the aim of promoting an active lifestyle and making running a popular fitness activity.
