The Hyderabad Metro Rail has ramped up its services significantly to assist commuters affected by the ongoing RTC strike. The metro authorities have deployed 56 trains throughout the day, a number typically reserved only for peak morning and evening hours. This decision aims to provide relief to thousands of passengers who depend on public transport for their daily commute across the city.

To reduce waiting times, the metro has shortened the frequency between trains on major corridors. On the Miyapur-LB Nagar corridor, trains will now arrive every 4 minutes 20 seconds. Similarly, the Nagole-Raidurg corridor will see trains running every 3 minutes 40 seconds. These enhanced services mark a departure from the usual practice where fewer trains operate during non-peak hours.

Metro officials have confirmed that they are using their maximum fleet strength throughout the day instead of limiting it to rush hours. This strategy ensures continuous and reliable service for commuters who would otherwise face difficulties due to the unavailability of RTC buses. The increased frequency is expected to accommodate the surge in passenger numbers during the strike period.

Authorities are also examining the possibility of extending the last metro service beyond the current 11 PM deadline. This extension would benefit late-night passengers who rely on public transport after regular service hours. Officials are assessing operational feasibility and passenger demand before making a final decision on the extended timings.
