Hyderabad Metro Rail has introduced new ticket prices starting today. The revised fares now range from a minimum of ₹11 to a maximum of ₹69.
Originally, the plan was to raise the prices to ₹12 and ₹75. However, after facing strong backlash from daily commuters, the management decided to lower the proposed hike.
To ease the change for passengers, a 10% discount is being offered on the new prices. The discount depends on how the ticket is purchased. Commuters using smart cards, mobile apps, or tokens will see savings based on their mode of payment.
Officials say they made these changes after reviewing key factors like passenger traffic, ticket sales, and the overall metro experience. Their goal is to keep the metro affordable while encouraging more people to use it for daily travel.
The Hyderabad Metro team assures that they remain focused on accessibility and convenience for all riders during this shift in pricing.
