Hyderabad: The City Crime Station (CCS) police have arrested the managing partner of Ambika Steel in connection with a GST fraud. Acting on a complaint from state GST officials, the CCS police detained the individual for creating false e-way bills and fake invoices to unlawfully claim input tax credit, without any actual goods being moved, breaching the GST Act.

State GST officials discovered that vehicle number AP29TA7213, which has not moved since June 2025 and is already detained, was illegally used by various taxpayers. They generated numerous e-way bills without transporting any goods, violating GST rules.

After an FIR was filed, the accused tried to have the case dismissed by the High Court, but the request was denied. They then attempted to escape to Goa but were caught and arrested by the police.
