On July 3, Nelage Sangamesh reported the theft to the police. He explained that on the afternoon of July 2, 2025, he left his house to visit his mother-in-law in Muthangi, Patancheru. His daughter called him at 11:30 PM to ask if he was coming back. He told her to close the doors but not lock them. When Sangamesh returned at 1:15 AM on July 3, he found his mother and daughter scared. His daughter had seen a stranger leaving their home. They then realized Rs 3,50,000 and a phone were missing.
After the complaint, police began investigating. DCP Suresh Kumar revealed that on July 2, 2025, Asif plotted with Md Asif and Ameer to rob his employer’s house in Apuroopa Colony. Knowing the owner’s schedule, they struck when the homeowner was away. The trio used a bike without a license plate to reach the location. Md Asif entered the house while Ameer stood guard. They took cash and a phone but fled when the owner’s daughter spotted them. Suresh Kumar noted that the suspects, who regularly consumed alcohol and were addicted to online betting, committed the crime due to financial pressures. They meticulously planned the operation, each playing a specific role.
