Hyderabad police have uncovered a major scam involving fake educational certificates. The Commissioner’s Task Force (South-East Zone) worked with the Masab Tank police to break up the racket and arrested two individuals connected to the operation.

The two arrested are Syed Imran, a 40-year-old known locally as ‘Professor’, and Mohd Khader, aged 27. Imran worked as a home tutor in the Talabkatta area and already had three criminal cases against him. He also had two outstanding non-bailable warrants.

Police caught the suspects near Chacha Nehru Park, in Masab Tank, while they were delivering fake certificates. Officers seized 36 counterfeit degrees from various universities during the operation.

According to Additional DCP Ande Srinivasa Rao, Khader had dropped out of his BTech studies in 2016. He wanted to go abroad, possibly to the US, for higher studies and employment. To do this, he paid ₹80,000 to Imran for a fake BBA degree certificate from Bundelkhand University, Jhansi.

Imran admitted he supplied fake educational documents to people who lacked qualifications but wanted to study or work overseas. He charged them large sums of money, promising certificates to help with their visa or admission processes.

Imran collected personal details and payments from clients. He then forwarded this information via WhatsApp to a contact named Rohan Shyamlal in Delhi. Rohan created the fake certificates, printed them, and sent them by courier to Imran. Imran then handed the forged documents to his clients.

Police are continuing their investigation to locate others involved in the scam and trace the full network behind the fake certificate operation.
