Hyderabad is preparing for two major festivals, Ganesh Chaturthi and Milad-un-Nabi, happening at the same time. Security is being increased to ensure both events are celebrated peacefully across the city.
Police have held meetings with festival organizers and peace committee members from both communities. These discussions focus on security plans and preventing any communal issues.
Milad-un-Nabi is set for September 5, while the Ganesh Visarjan will occur on September 6. Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C V Anand has directed officers to be vigilant until the festivals end smoothly.
The police chief has also called for cooperation from peace committee members. Talks were held with the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee and the Milad Juloos Committee. To honor Hyderabad’s tradition of unity, the Muslim community may adjust the Milad procession date.
Authorities are monitoring social media for any harmful content. About 30,000 police personnel will be on duty across the city for the festivals.
