Hyderabad authorities took firm action against illegal construction in the city. On May 22, officials demolished unauthorized buildings inside the Tirumala Hills Colony Park in Manikonda.
The operation was led by the Hydra task force, a special team formed to combat illegal structures. Acting on the orders of Hydra Chief Ranganath, workers from the Manikonda Municipal Corporation used JCB machines to tear down the unlawful buildings.
To ensure a smooth operation, Narsingi Police were present to maintain law and order.
Some locals protested the demolition. They argued that they had clearances from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and claimed the land belonged to their colony.
However, Santosh Singh, a town planning officer, dismissed the claims. He confirmed that the land was officially marked for park use and that the constructions violated building regulations.
Officials emphasized that no construction is allowed on designated parkland, and the demolition followed all legal procedures.
