The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRA) conducted its Prajavani public grievance session on Monday, receiving a total of 56 complaints from citizens across various districts. The complaints primarily focused on illegal encroachments on public roads, parks, government lands, and layout properties. HYDRA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath reviewed all the complaints and assigned resolution responsibilities to relevant officials for immediate action.
The Public Responsibilities and Rights Awareness Platform filed a complaint regarding Survey Number 148 in Kutbullapur, alleging that encroachers have occupied up to 23 gunthas above the nala and constructed a watchman shed. In a separate complaint, B. Venkataram Reddy reported that a 60-foot public road in the Kolluru area of Ramachandrapuram Mandal, Sangareddy District, has been encroached upon with illegal plots being set up on it. He appealed to authorities to remove the encroachments and restore the road to its original condition.
Representatives of Rajeevnagar Rajaka Seva Sangham submitted a petition highlighting issues in Survey Number 79/1 in Gajularamaram, Kutbullapur Mandal, Medchal Malkajgiri District. They stated that although three acres of government land were allocated for 80 poor families, only one acre reached the dhobi ghat. The remaining two acres are being encroached upon in the name of temples, with houses and sheds being constructed based on notary documents. The representatives demanded immediate protection of the government land.
In Chengicherla village, representatives of Sri Sai Krishna Enclave complained about the closure of a 30-foot public road in their layout, causing severe hardships to residents living on the rear side. Local residents also brought to HYDRA’s attention that despite High Court status quo orders being in effect on land from Survey Numbers 199 to 206 in Ilapur village, encroachments continue unabated and temple construction is underway in violation of court orders.
Residents of Bandankommu in Aminpur Mandal complained that 2.15 acres of government land allocated for a water tank and school, along with land designated for a cremation ground, are being subjected to encroachments. They challenged claims by encroachers that revenue officials allocated this land to them in 2007, noting that the structures were built in 2003. The residents also reported encroachments extending up to 15 acres in Beeranguda Survey Number 993 and requested immediate protection of the land.
Representatives of Software Associates Muchuchuvalli Aided Cooperative Housing Society lodged a complaint seeking protection for an 8-acre layout with 63 plots in Survey Numbers 189 and 181 in Vatti Nagulapalli Village, Gandipet Mandal, Ranga Reddy District. They alleged that their layout was sold by representatives of an unrecognized society, and while legal proceedings were ongoing, others occupied their plots and erased the boundaries of roads and parks.
A complaint was filed regarding the encroachment of 5 acres of government land adjacent to Chintala Cheruvu in Devendernagar, Gajula Ramaram, Kutbullapur Mandal. In another case, locals from Pashumamul Village, Abdullapurmet Mandal, Ranga Reddy District, reported disputes over an 18.22-acre layout named Sri Om Shanti Enclave in Survey Numbers 415, 416, 418, and 444. They complained that roads in adjacent survey numbers were merged and occupied along with plots during a dispute over land ownership.
The complaints also highlighted that layouts in LRS-approved gram panchayats are being completely erased, with encroachers occupying entire areas and building watchmen sheds. Citizens appealed to HYDRA for the protection of their layouts and removal of encroachments on roads and parks. HYDRA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath assured that all complaints would be reviewed and appropriate action would be taken by the assigned officials to address the grievances.
