HYDRAA has issued an important clarification stating that it will not interfere with residential houses or vacant plots located in old layouts formed on Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) lands. The agency made this announcement to address growing concerns among citizens regarding the safety of their properties in such layouts across the city.
In an official statement released on Saturday, HYDRAA clearly stated that no action will be taken against unregularized vacant plots in old layouts. The authority emphasized that citizens should not believe false claims or attempts by encroachers who are misusing HYDRAA’s name to illegally occupy these plots.
The agency has advised people to approach the HYDRAA office directly for clarification in case of any doubts or concerns. This step aims to prevent citizens from falling victim to misinformation and fraudulent activities being carried out by unscrupulous elements in the name of the authority.
HYDRAA emphasized that its primary focus remains strictly on protecting public-use spaces such as roads, parks, and areas earmarked for community needs as per approved layouts. The authority reiterated its commitment to safeguarding spaces meant for public welfare rather than targeting individual residential properties.
According to the government policy, structures that existed prior to the formation of HYDRAA on 19-07-2024 will not be demolished. This clarification provides relief to property owners who have been concerned about potential demolition actions against their existing structures in old layouts.
Recent enforcement actions in areas such as Kondapur under Serilingampally Mandal demonstrate this focused approach. Encroachments were removed only from parks, roads, and designated public spaces in layouts across Rajarajeshwari Nagar, OU Colony, and Raghavendra Colony. Similarly, in Hydernagar, HYDRAA protected park land in Gopal Nagar layout by clearing encroachments from public spaces.
The authority strongly urged citizens not to fall prey to misleading propaganda suggesting that unregularized plots will be seized and handed over to the government. Such misinformation, it warned, is often deliberately spread with the intent of acquiring land at cheaper prices through deception and fear-mongering.
@Comm_HYDRAA advised residents to verify any information directly with the official office before making decisions about their properties. The agency remains committed to transparent operations and encourages direct communication to prevent exploitation of property owners through false information campaigns.
