The INDIA alliance’s coordination and election strategy committee will meet for the first time on Wednesday at Sharad Pawar’s residence in New Delhi. They will discuss the allocation of electoral seats and develop a joint campaign plan. Abhishek Banerjee, a TMC Member of Parliament, will likely skip the meeting due to his summons by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning. The TMC hopes that the alliance leaders will condemn the summons and support their joint statement against the misuse of government agencies. Seat sharing is the top priority for the leaders before finalizing campaign strategies. The meeting will be attended by leaders from various parties, including Congress, DMK, Shiv Sena, and AAP.

The proposed joint campaign plan includes organizing rallies in Chennai, Guwahati, Delhi, Patna, and Nagpur. Each rally will focus on a specific issue such as caste census, attacks on federal structure, situation in the Northeast, secularism and polarization, and economic management. The meeting takes place amidst controversy over DMK leader Udayanidhi Stalin’s comments related to Sanatan Dharma. Some parties may express their views on this matter during the meeting. The Congress and TMC have already distanced themselves from Stalin’s comments.
