Nizamabad has seen significant progress in the Indiramma housing project. V.P. Gautam, the State Housing Corporation’s Secretary and Managing Director, praised the local administration for their efforts. He visited the district on Wednesday, noting the quick progress, especially in the second phase of house approvals and groundwork.

Gautam, along with District Collector T. Vinay Krishna Reddy, visited housing sites in Tirmanpalli and Ghanpur. They spoke with beneficiaries about free sand supply, bill payments, and mason fees. Gautam urged beneficiaries to accelerate construction and promised continued support.

A detailed meeting occurred at the Integrated District Office Complex. Collector Vinay Krishna Reddy shared that of the 19,306 targeted houses, 17,291 have been approved. Currently, 9,360 houses have started construction. Among these, 5,541 are at various stages: 4,647 at the basement, 665 at the walls, and 229 at the slab stage. Beneficiaries struggling with finances can get loans of up to Rs 1 lakh through self-help groups.

So far, Rs 30.07 crore has been distributed to 2,637 beneficiaries. The administration is working to add more members to women’s groups for broader loan access and to boost construction. If some beneficiaries refuse to proceed, they must provide written statements, and their allocations will be given to others. Gautam stressed that all eligible people should be included, and ineligible applicants should not receive houses. He warned officials to avoid irregularities.

To simplify construction, Gautam called for coordination between housing officials and MPDOs for free sand token distribution and controlled transport costs. He also directed Mandal-level Price Control Committees to set fixed prices for materials and mason fees.

Gautam assured that payments are made timely, with no fund shortages, and bills are processed weekly. Direct payments via Aadhaar-linked bank accounts will soon start to avoid technical issues. He urged the quick upload of beneficiary details on the Pradhan Mantri Awas portal and faster geo-tagging. Plans to build G+3 Indiramma houses on 4.32 acres in Abhayahastam Colony were also discussed.
