Hyderabad: Starting in the 2025-26 academic year, students in arts and commerce intermediate courses in Telangana may experience a new way of learning that goes beyond textbooks.
The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has suggested a new assessment system to the State government. This system would combine both practical and theoretical learning, giving students a more hands-on and complete education.
As part of the proposed internal assessments, students will be encouraged to visit historical landmarks, famous monuments, and busy vegetable markets. These field visits aim to help students better understand their subjects through real-world experiences.
If approved by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who also handles the education department, the new method will be introduced in the 2025-26 academic year.
Under the new plan, there will be four internal assessments during the year. Each of these assessments will be worth five marks, adding up to 20 marks in total. In addition, students will also take annual exams worth 80 marks.
