Wanaparthy: A man caused a disturbance during the Ganesh immersion procession in Kalvarala village, part of Veepanagandla mandal. He was very drunk and attacked a police constable, according to local SI K Rani.
The incident occurred on Saturday evening. The villagers were celebrating the procession when Boya Narasimha, a local resident, showed up intoxicated and caused trouble. He behaved inappropriately with those present and disrupted the event. Villagers quickly alerted the police.
Head Constable Venkatesh and his team arrived to handle the situation. When they tried to calm Narasimha, he resisted and assaulted Constable MD Khaja. During the scuffle, he reportedly ripped off Khaja’s nameplate.
Even as he was being taken to the station, Narasimha continued his aggressive behavior by kicking and breaking the police vehicle’s windows. SI Rani stated that a case has been filed against him, emphasizing that strict measures will be enforced against anyone who misbehaves while under the influence and attacks police officers.
