Telangana Minister Srinivas Goud is facing a lawsuit in the High Court. The court rejected his request to dismiss the petition filed against him regarding his election. The petitioner, Raghavendra Raju from Mahbubnagar, accused Srinivas Goud of submitting false documents in his election affidavit. Srinivas Goud tried to have the petition dismissed, but the court ruled in favor of Raghavendra Raju.
In another case, the Telangana High Court declared Jalagam Venkatarao as Kothagudem MLA. Jalagam had challenged the victory of Vanama Venkateshwar Rao in 2018, alleging that he had submitted a false report in his election affidavit. After a thorough investigation, the court invalidated Vanama Venkateshwar Rao’s election and declared Jalagam Venkatrao as the winner. Vanama was fined Rs 5 lakh for submitting a false affidavit, and the court ruled that he has been ineligible to serve as an MLA since 2018.
