Hyderabad: On Friday, Telangana PCC working president T Jagga Reddy questioned Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender after he reportedly cleared former Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao of any wrongdoing in the Kaleshwaram project during a probe. At a press conference in Gandhi Bhavan, he asked State BJP president and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy to clarify his stance on Eatala’s statement.
Jagga Reddy highlighted that for ten years, PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have claimed that Kaleshwaram was an “ATM for BRS“. He asked if they still believe this and if they support Eatala’s clean chit to KCR. The Congress leader demanded answers from the Union Minister.
He noted that even after Revanth Reddy became CM, his position on Kaleshwaram did not change. This led to a commission of inquiry, reflecting the Congress’s clear stance. From the beginning, CM Revanth Reddy and Minister Uttam consistently pointed out irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project, aiming to protect public funds. The project’s flawed design is widely known. Eatala was involved during its development, yet now avoids discussing the irregularities. Modi and Shah have repeatedly accused Kaleshwaram of being a corruption hub and a fund source for BRS.
Jagga Reddy continued, saying Eatala, a BJP MP, has now exonerated KCR before the commission. Kishan Reddy must clarify if he agrees with Eatala’s statements. Is this the BJP’s official position? Public confusion arises if Kishan Reddy remains silent, suggesting BJP aligns with Eatala’s views.
Reddy recalled that Eatala criticized KCR and Harish Rao when leaving BRS. However, his stance changed before the commission. Kishan Reddy must address whether he supports or opposes this. After Eatala cleared KCR, Kishan Reddy has not spoken up.
Was Eatala’s clean chit directed by BJP in Delhi despite Modi’s past accusations? Does the central ruling party believe no corruption occurred in Kaleshwaram? Are Eatala’s statements false, or is that the BJP’s official position? Kishan Reddy has stated that party members need approval before speaking. Did Eatala have this approval? Did he compromise with BRS out of fear of exposure? Has Modi realized Eatala might be in trouble? These are the questions the TPCC leader wants answered.
