Javeed urges swift resolution of Anganwadi workers’ concerns

Khammam: City Congress president Mohammed Javeed showed his support for Anganwadi workers who are on a hunger strike to demand better working conditions and higher salaries.

Javeed visited the urban Thasildhar office where the Anganwadi workers are protesting and expressed his solidarity with them. He demanded that the government address the issues faced by Anganwadi workers and make their positions permanent. Javeed also called for the implementation of the Supreme Court verdict to provide gratuity to the workers. He insisted on a minimum wage of Rs 26,000 for Anganwadi workers, as well as job security, pension, and ESI benefits.

Javeed further demanded a retirement payment of Rs 10 lakh for teachers and Rs 5 lakh for helpers. He also requested accident insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh for those seeking voluntary retirement after the age of 60.

As the City Congress convenor, Javeed urged the government to increase the budget for ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services) and improve infrastructure by providing proper buildings. He assured that the Congress party will continue to support and fight for the rights of Anganwadi workers.
