In Hyderabad, BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao announced candidates for the Warangal and Chevella Lok Sabha constituencies. Dr Kadiyam Kavya will be representing Warangal, while Kasani Gnaneshwar Mudiraj will be representing Chevella. A meeting of BRS leaders from Warangal and Chevella took place at KCR’s residence to finalize these decisions.
Sources revealed that many leaders wanted to change the current candidate from Warangal, Pasunoori Dayakar, in favor of Kavya. They believed that having Kadiyam Srihari as an MP in the past would benefit the party. The Congress has been trying to persuade Srihari to join their party by offering an Assembly seat to his daughter, Dr Kavya. To counter this move, KCR decided to nominate Kavya as the candidate for Warangal.
Following the withdrawal of party candidate G Ranjith Reddy, BRS chose to give Kasani the opportunity to represent Chevella. Initially, there were talks of giving the ticket to Kasani’s son Veeresh, but party leaders opted for the more experienced leader instead. Gnaneshwar was previously associated with TDP before the Assembly elections and later joined BRS after TDP decided not to contest the elections. He has also been nominated as an MLC from Ranga Reddy district due to his financial stability.
