Hyderabad: Kalvakuntla Kavitha, President of Telangana Jagruthi, is now concentrating on irrigation issues to challenge the government led by Revanth Reddy. She is raising concerns about projects like Bollapalli in Nallamala and the impact on those displaced by the Polavaram submergence area.

Jagruthi leaders report that Kavitha is thoroughly examining the irrigation sector to critique the current administration. She has voiced opposition to the Banakacherla project and is against the planned Bollapalli project in the Nallamala Forest. In a recent press conference, Kavitha pointed out that the forest faces the risk of flooding due to the Bollapalli project proposed by the Andhra Pradesh government.

Kavitha also questioned claims that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu supported Telangana projects, citing his past objections and legal actions against them. She criticized his stance, labeling him a “paper tiger” despite his self-proclaimed title as the “Nallamala Tiger.” Kavitha argued that he has not taken action against the proposed 150 TMC Bollapalli reservoir, which threatens the Nallamala forest.

On Friday, Kavitha is hosting a roundtable meeting to address the submergence in Telangana caused by the Polavaram project. Naveen Achari, the General Secretary of Jagruthi, confirmed that leaders from various parties, public organizations, and flood victims will attend and speak at the meeting, which will take place from 10 am to 2 pm.
