    MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha spoke at the Irrigation Day celebrations in Nizamabad. She praised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for his work on canals, check dams, and irrigation projects. The Chief Minister’s Mission Kakatiya has restored water bodies, and the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project has helped to provide irrigation water throughout the state.

    Kavitha called the Kaleshwaram project an engineering marvel and said that every Indian should be proud of it. Nizamabad district has benefited greatly from the project, with 1.81 lakh acres of land being cultivated under it and ground water increasing by 15 metres across the district.

    Kavitha also stated that Telangana was neglected in all aspects when it was part of combined Andhra Pradesh, with elected representatives from the region being under the control of Andhra rulers.
