Hanumakonda: At a key meeting in Hyderabad’s Command Control Centre, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Warangal MP Dr. Kadiyam Kavya assessed the status of major railway projects in Telangana, especially focusing on the Warangal region.
Dr. Kavya proposed building a bus stand close to Kazipet Railway Station to improve passenger movement. She urged the state to offer alternative land to the Railways. The Chief Minister agreed to provide land for this multi-modal bus stand, and the Railway Minister promised to expedite the plan through zonal officials.
Dr. Kavya also suggested a new railway station and line at Bhupalpally, a key area for Singareni Collieries and TGGENCO. She explained that a dedicated railway line would lessen the reliance on trucks, which would, in turn, reduce accidents, pollution, and transportation costs while enhancing both passenger and freight services.
To further Warangal’s growth, Kavya insisted on upgrading Kazipet to a railway division, noting that as Telangana’s second-largest city, it would gain significantly in connectivity, job opportunities, and revenue.
She also raised issues with the proposed Nashkal–Warangal bypass lines through Chintapalli and Hasanparthy. She argued that farmers, who had already sacrificed land for the Outer Ring Road project, would suffer more due to this railway alignment.
Emphasizing the importance of safeguarding agriculture and urban development in Warangal, she called for alternative routes and announced plans to present a memorandum to the Railway Minister.
