Hyderabad: On the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi, the massive 70-foot tall idol of Lord Ganesh from Khairatabad is being transported to Hussain Sagar Lake for the traditional visarjan (immersion) ceremony.
The towering idol has been a major attraction during the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Hyderabad. Thousands of devotees came to offer prayers and admire the grand statue throughout the festival. The visarjan marks the conclusion of the celebrations, symbolizing the end of the festival and the cycle of creation and dissolution.
The procession to Hussain Sagar Lake started early in the morning. Special arrangements were made to manage the large crowd and ensure the safe movement of the idol. Many devotees and organizers were involved in coordinating traffic and security to make sure the idol reaches the lake without any issues.
This year’s visarjan is expected to draw huge crowds. People are gathering to witness the final immersion of the grand idol. The event is not only an important religious ceremony but also a cultural celebration, highlighting the festive spirit of Hyderabad during Ganesh Chaturthi.
