Hyderabad: Heavy rains have caused severe flooding in Telangana, prompting Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy to seek immediate help from Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The Musi River in Hyderabad is overflowing after two days of intense rainfall, affecting the region significantly.

The India Meteorological Department predicts more heavy rain over the next two days, raising fears of more flooding in low-lying areas. Kishan Reddy updated Amit Shah on the situation and requested more National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams to enhance rescue operations.

“Amit Shah assured me that NDRF teams are ready and more will be sent if needed,” Reddy stated. He stressed that the situation is critical as the Musi River is at dangerous levels due to heavy upstream inflows. He urged people in risky areas, especially near rivers and canals, to stay alert and follow evacuation orders.

“Residents near the Musi River should move to safer locations immediately,” he advised. Reddy promised full support from the central government, ensuring that all necessary resources will be provided. He appealed to BJP workers in Telangana to help in relief efforts by supplying essential items like food, water, milk, and medicines to those affected.
