Hyderabad: On Thursday, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy visited the famous Khairatabad Ganesh mandapam, a key site for one of India’s most admired Ganesh idols. During his visit, he wished devotees well for the festival and highlighted its cultural and patriotic importance. He mentioned that Hyderabad hosts the most celebrated Ganesh festival in the country, with the Khairatabad idol symbolizing devotion and unity. Reddy expressed his hopes for national prosperity, peace, and happiness, particularly with successful agricultural harvests.
Reddy honored the soldiers protecting the nation’s borders, saying, “I pray for our brave soldiers to receive more strength and resilience for their sacrifices.” He also discussed India’s fast development, pointing out that some global powers are trying to impose restrictions due to this progress. “We must strengthen our nation by avoiding foreign goods and supporting local products,” he stated. The Khairatabad Ganesh festival began 70 years ago and continues strongly today. Reddy commended the organizers for preserving the event’s grandeur and tradition, which boosts Hyderabad’s national reputation.
He reflected on the festival’s growth in scale and significance, attracting thousands of devotees annually. “This festival is more than a celebration,” he remarked, “it’s a testament to our heritage, unity, and devotion.”
