During a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, BRS working president KT Rama Rao accused the Centre of allocating substandard iron ore from the Biladila mine to Biladila Iron Ore Private Limited, a subsidiary of the Adani Group. Rama Rao claimed that both Adani and the Prime Minister were destroying the wealth of Telugu States. He challenged opposition party leaders to file a defamation case if his allegations were untrue. Rama Rao pointed out that he had requested the allocation of Biladila in June 2018, and in September 2018, Adani formed the subsidiary company. He also proposed setting up a steel plant in Mundra, Gujarat. However, during the same time, the Centre allocated iron ore to a Japanese and Korean company. Rama Rao questioned why the iron ore in Biladila was not suitable for steel plants in Bayyaram and Vizag Steel Plant, alleging that the Centre was pushing Vizag Steel Plant into losses to kill the public sector company.
